Next Wave Funds was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in the United States with an office in Germany.

To grow its business, Next Wave Funds formed a joint venture in 2005 with Japan Asia Investment Co., Ltd., the largest independent venture capital firm in Japan. As active investors, they can help portfolio companies expand or achieve exits in the U.S. and Asia as well as local markets. In early 2012, Next Wave has formed a strategic collaboration with Sitra, the Finnish Innovation Fund, that is a leader in Nordic venture capital. The General Partner continues to expand its pan-European activities, utilizing its extensive fund and direct investment experience as well as its global network to enhance returns.

The Team is responsible for the management and investment strategy for each fund.

Elliott Davis


Mr. Davis, Managing General Partner, founded Next Wave Funds in 1999. He has over 25 years of experience in private investments, corporate finance and mergers & acquisitions. He was previously a partner in Maier & Siebel, a San Francisco investment firm with international clients, where he initiated and managed numerous funds. Before that he was with LaSalle Partners, advising institutional and corporate clients on alternative asset strategies. He started his career with Citicorp Investment Bank, advising clients in international corporate finance and M&A. He has worked extensively in Europe and Asia. He is also on the Advisory Board of Target Partners GmbH, a venture firm in Munich.

Elliott Davis


Mr. Wecken, General Partner, opened the Hamburg representative office in 2004.  He has a career that has spanned three continents. He was with Jebsen & Co., a leading European trading house, in Hong Kong; He worked with M.M. Warburg in Germany and ran their New York office. More recently, in Hamburg, Germany, he was the head of private banking for Mees Pierson in Germany and then Conrad Hinrich Donner Bank. He has been a Managing Partner of two Asian private equity funds.
